The first line of our first reading, from the book of Wisdom, sets the tone for the Liturgy of the Word today: "God did not make death." In the Gospel Jesus heals a woman with an incurable illness and raises Jairus’ daughter to life. The key to both miracles is the faith of those who approach him. We can listen to all of today’s readings for passages that point to God’s preference for life and reflect on how our faith can grow in response.
Question of the Week
Is there a situation in my life or in the life of a friend or family member that is considered hopeless? How can I obey Jesus’ advice, "Do not be afraid; just have faith"?

You have blessed the people and families of Sacred Heart Parish
with an abundance of grace and joy.
We are grateful for all your gifts bestowed upon us.
Look with favor upon our efforts
to protect, enhance, and expand Your house, O Lord.
Stir up in us a spirit of gratitude and generosity, that we may respond sacrificially to Your call.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus enflame our hearts, and inspire us in this spiritual endeavor that we joyfully undertake for You and Your Holy Church. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
