Today’s readings all fit together quite well. In the Gospel, we hear Jesus proclaim that he is the vine and we are the branches; if we remain in him we will bear much fruit. Our first reading from the Acts of the Apostles describes how Saint Paul, newly grafted onto the vine, is beginning to bear fruit. And the second reading tells us how to remain on the vine: believe in the name of Jesus Christ and love one another. Let us listen for these messages in God’s holy word today.
Question of the Week
How and for whom can I be a Barnabas this week, a "Son or Daughter of Encouragement"?
You have blessed the people and families of Sacred Heart Parish
with an abundance of grace and joy.
We are grateful for all your gifts bestowed upon us.
Look with favor upon our efforts
to protect, enhance, and expand Your house, O Lord.
Stir up in us a spirit of gratitude and generosity, that we may respond sacrificially to Your call.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus enflame our hearts, and inspire us in this spiritual endeavor that we joyfully undertake for You and Your Holy Church. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
